Learn to positively and confidently identify some of the amazing wild edibles growing in your yard and the beautiful blue ridge landscape each spring. Discover how each plant is helpful to your health. You might call them weeds, but many are some of the best (and sustainable and free) superfoods around. Flower essences are homeopathic herbal medicines that carry the subtle vibration of individual flowers for emotional, spiritual, and psychological healing. Dr. Edward Bach wrote, “These remedies cure, not by attacking disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which disease melts as snow in the sunshine.” Learn to connect with flowers and make your own essence. This fun, hands-on program offers:

  • A broad spectrum of plants and healing traditions,

  • Herbal allies that can support digestion, vitality, sleep, immunity, and first aid,

  • Time in the field identifying plants and making herbal medicines, including tinctures, teas, medicinal foods, oils, vinegars, and infusions.

Return home with clear directions on how to effectively use herbs and herbal practices for health.

Discover what herbs are right for you and your specific needs with an Herbal Consultation.  In your private consultation,  my job as an herbalist is to help you understand what is going on with your body. With this understanding, we can work together to determine which herbs will be best for you, while also incorporating supportive practices such as foods, vitamins & minerals, as well as flower essences and emotional tools. 

Herbal medicine has a history of helping people address chronic conditions.  They may be allies of support in dealing with:

Nonprofit Medicinal Herbal Garden


The Lord's Acre believes that "everyone is hungry for something and everyone has something to give."  They are a community hub that brings volunteers together to grow organic food for those in need and offers garden and food-skills training to all ages. 

The Functional Herb Garden is a place where our deep gladness meets the world’s deep hunger.  Our goal is to empower members of the community through the earth-based healing of herbs and herbal education.  We endeavor to:

  • grow powerful medicinal and functional herbs,

  • offering educational opportunities related to herb use and medicine making,

  • connect diverse stakeholders -- herbalists, women's organizations, herbal free clinic, low-income populations, schools & students, and gardeners -- to share  functional plants with the local community and beyond
